Moroccan Airports See 59% Revenue Plunge Amid Infrastructure Upgrades

The decline concerns all airport fees (-65%), overflight (-57%) and non-aeronautical (-53%) fees. In a press release, ONDA stressed that 491 million dirhams (MDH) were invested to upgrade the aeronautical infrastructure of Fès airport, for the project to build a new terminal at Rabat Salé airport and for the project to develop and build a domestic module at Mohammed V airport.
Regarding the level of indebtedness, it stood at 6.08 MMDH during the same period, up 1.29 MMDH compared to the end of December 2019 following the issuance of 1.5 MMDH to repay the bond loan maturing in December 2020.
As for passenger traffic, it fell by 69.5% compared to the same period last year. The closure of land and air borders by many countries around the world to contain the spread of Covid-19 explains this low rate.
