Moroccan Air Traffic Controllers Threaten New Strike Over Unmet Demands

After a few weeks of respite, the air traffic controllers met and decided on a series of protest movements against the non-satisfaction of their demands.
According to the decision taken at the meeting of the trade union office of air traffic controllers, a progressive program has been put in place and should start with the wearing of armbands to lead to stronger actions until the complete satisfaction of the demands. It denounces "the catastrophic situation" prevailing at Mohammed V airport, the non-respect of the commitments made by the National Airports Office (ONDA), "the lack of response or interaction from the administration with their requests", reports Hespress.
These threats brandished by the trade union office of the controllers show the tense relationship between the Administration of the National Airports Office (ONDA) and the trade union of air traffic controllers at the Casablanca airports. To force the hand of the supervisory authority, the trade union office threatens to restrict the circulation of aircraft by allowing the takeoff of only one plane every fifteen minutes for a period of ten days, which can be extended, starting Tuesday, February 21, at 3 p.m.
This protest measure does not concern state and royal palace aircraft, military, medical and humanitarian aircraft. A daily sit-in will be organized for ten days. The office calls on all air traffic controllers to "tighten ranks and rally around the CDT to make their program of struggle a success until it is completed".
