Moroccan Air Traffic Controllers Threaten 15-Day Strike Over Pay Dispute

The sky is darkening over Moroccan airports. Air traffic could experience some disruptions in the coming days. The reason is that air traffic controllers are preparing to start a 15-day strike, starting this Wednesday, August 3.
While the summer season is in full swing with a resurgence of air activities, the air traffic controllers have issued a threat of work stoppage. Main demand: the payment of the salary revaluation bonus provided for in a protocol agreement signed in 2019.
However, discussions with the office authorities are continuing in the hope of finding common ground. The amount of the ATM (Air Traffic Management) bonus was not specified in the document.
For its part, the office had invited the air traffic controllers to be patient, recalling the difficult context it had gone through, in connection with the effects of the two years of the pandemic, which resulted in successive losses of around 2 billion dirhams (2020) and 1.6 billion dirhams (2021).
