Moroccan Air Traffic Controllers Plan 15-Day Strike, Threatening Flight Disruptions

Air traffic is likely to be disrupted in the coming days. Air traffic controllers are preparing to start a 15-day strike starting next Saturday.
Air traffic controllers will cease all provision of air traffic services in all Moroccan airports and airspace, announced the National Unified Bureau of Air Traffic Controllers, a member of the National Union of ONDA affiliated with the CDT. Main demand: the payment of the salary revaluation bonus provided for in a protocol agreement signed in 2019.
However, air navigation control services will be provided for the benefit of royal palace flights, state flights, military flights, medical flights, purely humanitarian flights and flights participating in search and rescue operations, the same source said.
To justify the movement, the organizers point to the "resounding failure" during the negotiations conducted with the administration on "the agreement of August 3, 2022 and the remaining points of the 2019 protocol agreement and its annex". The national unified bureau of air traffic controllers also informs of a possible extension, suspension or cancellation of said movement depending on the discussions.
