Moroccan Activists Protest Israeli Tourism as Direct Flights Begin

The launch of direct flights between Morocco and Israel is not to the liking of thousands of Moroccan activists. They have launched a campaign on social media to condemn this decision.
The activists have launched various hashtags, including "Zionists are not welcome in my country" and "No to Zionists", to protest the Moroccan government’s decision to welcome the first group of Israeli tourists. The Moroccan Front for Support of Palestine and Against Normalization with Israel has called on Moroccans to participate in this campaign and categorically reject the arrival of Israeli tourists in Marrakech.
"I watched videos of the welcome of a group of Israeli tourists, whose regime has usurped Palestinian lands, taken the lives of Palestinians and desecrated the sacred character of the Palestinian nation. I would like to ask those who were satisfied with this exaggerated celebration: ’How do you feel in the face of hundreds of [Palestinian] victims, including women and children, and the destruction of their farmland and buildings?’, wrote an activist on his Twitter page.
To read:
"Dancing with child murderers to our music and raising the flag of an apartheid regime is disgusting," another was outraged. Have tourists from other countries ever raised their flag? Have some integrity. It should be noted that Moroccans stand with Palestine."
On Sunday, two Israeli airlines El Al and Israir launched their first flights to Morocco, seven months after the restoration of diplomatic relations between the two countries. Hundreds of Israeli tourists arrived in Marrakech on board the first direct commercial flight from Israel. This first air link between Tel Aviv and the ochre city was operated on board an aircraft of the Israeli carrier Israir.
