Survey: Urban Moroccans More Open to Morocco-Israel Ties, Many Remain Silent

In Morocco, urban dwellers are more accepting of the normalization of diplomatic relations between the kingdom and Israel than rural dwellers. This is revealed by a survey conducted by the Sunergia group.
How do you judge the normalization of relations between Morocco and Israel? This is the question that the Sunergia group asked as part of the survey. It appears that 60% of Moroccans prefer not to comment on this subject. By age group, 58% of people aged 18 to 24 wished not to comment. 62% of people aged 25 to 34 preferred not to comment, compared to 67% for 35-44 year olds. Among Moroccans aged 55-64, they represent 45%.
Other Moroccans, on the other hand, agreed to comment on the subject. According to the majority, the restoration of relations between the kingdom and the Hebrew state, formalized in December last year, is a good decision. Those who express this position are mainly the 55-64 age group (49%), followed by the 45-54 age group (35%).
The survey results thus show that the higher socioeconomic status (SES) categories are the most favorable to normalization with 41% for SES A and B. Urban dwellers are more accepting of the Morocco-Israel rapprochement than rural dwellers, with 34% and 21% favorable responses respectively.
