Moroccan striker Eliesse Ben Seghir has confided that his greatest wish is to play for FC Barcelona. A dream that the Atlas Lion wants to achieve to honor the memory of his father who wanted to see him wear the Catalan club’s jersey.
Ben Seghir aspires to play for Barça. The AS Monaco player told Spanish media Sport that "his biggest dream is to play one day with the Barcelona jersey". In a previous interview, the Moroccan international had stated: "I grew up watching Barça. I am fascinated by their style of play".
The 20-year-old player wants to join the Blaugrana to "honor the memory of his father, who died four years ago during the Covid-19 pandemic", reports the same source, adding that this transfer could happen in the near future, particularly during the next summer transfer window.
According to L’Équipe, Ben Seghir could leave Monaco at the end of the 2024-2025 season due to tensions with his Austrian coach Adolf Hütter. The Atlas Lion (10 caps, 3 goals and 2 assists) is on the radar of major European clubs such as Manchester City, Liverpool, Bayern Munich and Paris Saint-Germain (PSG) who wish to secure his services.
Born in Saint-Tropez (France) to Moroccan parents, Eliesse Ben Seghir is shining this season in the French championship, raising his level week after week. In 43 matches across all competitions, the Moroccan striker from Monaco has scored 9 goals and provided 4 assists. His market value is estimated at 30 million euros.
