1.6 million dirhams stolen: the failed heist of a bank employee unmasked

The events took place this weekend in an agency in the Oulad Oujih district, reports Rue20. Taking advantage of a break, the suspect withdrew the sum from the vaults before hiding it in a garbage bag, thus attempting to leave the building with the money. This unusual behavior immediately alerted the director of the establishment, who requested the intervention of the law enforcement.

The police response made it possible to quickly locate the individual. The judicial police of Mehdia, in coordination with the prefecture of Kenitra, traced the employee to a house in the Haddada area. The operation resulted in his arrest and the full seizure of the stolen amount.

An in-depth investigation is now underway. The investigators are proceeding with the questioning of all the staff and the analysis of the video surveillance recordings.
