Million-Dirham Heist: Lover’s Wife and Sister Steal Mistress’s Fortune During Asian Getaway
In Khouribga, while she was traveling with her lover, a woman had all her savings stolen. The man’s wife and sister, the authors of the theft, were arrested and then detained.
The theft was committed in the absence of the mistress. She was traveling in Asia with her lover. Upon her return, the woman - an aesthetician - discovered that she had been robbed of one million dirhams that she had hidden in a bag, reports Assabah. She immediately went to the police station to report the incident. A team from the judicial police inspected the premises, took fingerprints in the apartment and questioned the victim’s close entourage. The investigations note the absence of signs of forced entry, the door of the apartment remaining intact and the furniture in place. They then favor the hypothesis of a theft committed by a close person.
During her questioning at the police station, the victim revealed that only her sole friend, after her divorce, was aware of the presence of a large sum of money in her room. Also, she confided that they had been having an extramarital affair for some time, which was to lead to a legal marriage with the consent of the first wife. These statements aroused the suspicions of the investigators. They analyzed the images from the cameras of a neighboring house, which showed a car registered in Morocco, with two veiled women getting out of the vehicle and heading towards the targeted apartment.
The investigators went to the car rental agency, which easily provided the identity of its customer. It was the lover’s wife. She committed the theft with the complicity of her husband’s sister. The man, his wife and his sister were arrested and placed in pre-trial detention for qualified theft at the end of last week. They must answer to the charge of qualified theft committed at night, breach of trust and corruption.
