Migrants Crash Van Through Spanish-Moroccan Border Checkpoint in Ceuta

Fifty migrants on board a van forced their way through the Tarajal border post on Monday, November 18, 2019, in Sebta. A gate at the border post between this Spanish enclave and [Morocco] was broken.
According to a spokesman for the Civil Guard in Sebta, this van "appeared at full speed and broke the gate" of the Tarajal border post. 50 people, including men, women and children from sub-Saharan Africa, were on board the vehicle, he said. The driver of the van, on the other hand, was arrested.
A video from the local daily El Faro de Ceuta shows that the front of this white van registered in the Paris region was damaged by its impact with the fence, which appears open and bent. Arriving on the scene, the Civil Guard transported all the migrants to a border post of the Red Cross for them to be taken care of.
The latest statistics from the Spanish Ministry of the Interior indicate that 5,216 migrants, including 1,163 in Sebta, have managed to enter Sebta and Melilla by land, down 12.4% compared to 2018.
