Migrant Found Alive in Toxic Waste Bag at Spanish Port of Melilla

An agent discovered, on Friday, February 19, a migrant living in a bag containing toxic waste at the port of Melilla. This announcement was made by the Guardia Civil.
In a statement, the Guardia Civil said that this migrant was "inside a hermetically sealed plastic bag containing fly ash from an incinerator, which is toxic waste listed on the European list of toxic waste."
An agent first noticed "the inert leg of a person," and thought he was dead, the same source said, continuing that this migrant was finally "extracted from the ash bag" and "regained consciousness."
In total, 41 candidates for illegal immigration were found on Friday on board trucks and other vehicles present at the port. Some were hidden in containers full of bottles and other glass objects intended for recycling, "with many shards." They all wanted to reach Spain.
