Midfielder Ihattaren Undecided Between Morocco and Netherlands

While Morocco and the Netherlands are showing interest in him, midfielder Mohamed Ihattaren is having trouble deciding on his sporting nationality.
What sporting nationality for Mohamed Ihattaren? Approached by the KNVB (Royal Dutch Football Association) to join the Under-21 team for the 2025 U21 Euro, he is having trouble deciding. "Yes, the KNVB contacted me through my agent (José Fortes Rodríguez). I heard about their interest, but I haven’t discussed it directly with them yet. Right now, I’m not thinking about it at all," he said on the Goedemorgen Eredivisie show on ESPN NL.
For now, the one who had represented the Dutch national team under the orders of Ronald Koeman in 2019 prefers to focus on his club, RKC Waalwijk. "The Euro is a great showcase, but right now I’m not focused on that. Netherlands or Morocco? I just want to play football. I’m honored by the interest, but my priority is Waalwijk first," added the 23-year-old midfielder.
After a bad patch, the former PSV Eindhoven talent is enjoying himself with RKC Waalwijk. He has already scored 3 goals and provided 3 assists in 15 games this season.
