RKC Waalwijk Extends Contract of Resurgent Midfielder Mohamed Ihattaren

RKC Waalwijk has announced that it has exercised the unilateral option in Mohamed Ihattaren’s contract. The 23-year-old attacking midfielder, who arrived in September, is therefore tied to the club for an additional year.
After a promising start at PSV Eindhoven, Ihattaren had experienced a period of instability, passing through five clubs in four years. His arrival in Waalwijk had been surprising, as the player thought he was ending his career.
Despite some criticism, Ihattaren has become an important player in the RKC squad, engaged in a difficult fight for Eredivisie survival.
The club’s decision reflects the trust placed by Mohamed Allach and Henk Fraser in the player, as well as a possible arrival on the Moroccan national football team. This one-year extension gives RKC the opportunity to receive a transfer fee during the next summer transfer window.
