Mentally Ill Man Arrested in Agadir for Online Threats Against Diplomat

Elements of the prefectural service of the judicial police of Agadir proceeded to arrest an individual showing symptoms of a psychiatric illness, last Wednesday. He would be involved in the publication of violent content via computer systems, threatening to commit criminal acts.
He is paying the price of his misconduct. The elements of the national security had initiated investigations and technical investigations following a tweet containing violent content and a threat against the head of a diplomatic mission accredited in Morocco, indicates the General Directorate of National Security in a press release.
These investigations made it possible to identify the suspect (32 years old) and to arrest him in Tikiouine, near the city of Agadir, adds the same source, stating that the Central Brigade in charge of crimes related to new technologies lent a hand to the elements of the prefectural service of the judicial police.
According to the investigation conducted under the supervision of the competent public prosecutor’s office, the accused shows symptoms of a psychiatric illness, which required a medical examination. This expertise has proven that he suffers from psychiatric disorders. As a result, he was placed in a psychiatric hospital to receive the necessary care.
