Mawazine Festival 2024 Sees Sharp Decline in Moroccan Attendance

Contrary to previous editions, this year’s Mawazine Festival did not attract the crowds. Attendance was particularly low during the last two days of the event.
The Moroccan public has snubbed the 19th edition of the Mawazine Festival. This is the observation made by AlJarida24, which noted a low turnout of spectators at the concerts during the opening ceremony that took place on Friday. Moroccans were not numerous to follow the performances on the Nahda stage in Rabat by OLM Souissi, Australian singer Kylie Minogue, Egyptian artist Angham, and even Latifa Raafat in Salé. A situation that led the organizers of the Festival to open "Gold" tickets to the general public.
Similarly, the concert by Egyptian artist Ahmed Saad, who is nevertheless very popular with the Moroccan public, did not attract a crowd around the Nahda stage on Saturday. The organizers had to cancel the artist’s press conference scheduled for Saturday in the run-up to his concert, after he kept the journalists waiting for more than an hour. The same goes for Egyptian artist Angham, who missed the usual meeting with the national and Arab press. Situations that show the poor organization of this edition of the Mawazine Festival.
