Algerian Star Kader Japonais Pulls Out of Morocco’s Mawazine Festival

Algerian artist Kader Japonais canceled at the last minute his participation in the closing concert of the Mawazine Festival on Saturday. He was replaced by the popular Moroccan singer Saïd Senhaji.
The Algerian raï singer is said to have withdrawn after learning that his mother had fallen into a coma during the Hajj. Other rumors suggest pressure from the Algerian authorities for him not to participate in the festival. Abdelkader Haibawi in civil status, Kader Japonais nicknamed "the Sultan of raï", is a famous artist in the Maghreb and in France, and is one of the biggest stars of raï.
As for Saïd Senhaji, he is considered one of the most prominent names on the Moroccan artistic scene. The popular singer entertained the audience during the closing concert of the Mawazine Festival, which was attended by stars like Mohamed Ramadan, Aminux, Saida Charaf, etc.
