Massive Security Operation Deployed for Morocco’s Mawazine Music Festival
As an international event, "Mawazine" has over the years established itself as a major global music, entertainment and major meeting place, bringing together artists and fans from around the world. To this end, the Rabat Police Prefecture has put in place a significant security system to ensure the proper organization of the event.
To ensure the perfect organization of "Mawazine" 2019, the Rabat Police Prefecture has not spared any means. It even proceeded, last Thursday, to a demonstration of its device which mobilized various security forces, reports Hespress.
Indeed, the task incumbent on the police is enormous. According to Chahid Naciri, it is a question of securing 150 shows, 80 artists, both national and international, and more than 1600 musicians and technicians, not to mention the public, more numerous each year, who attend the concerts of this artistically recognized event worldwide.
In front of the local press, the District Chief at the Police Prefecture indicated that "significant human and material resources have been deployed". In addition, a command post, composed of all the services, is being set up. Operational 24 hours a day, he specifies, the device is "installed at the headquarters of the Rabat Police Prefecture, with the main mission of collecting information and identifying failures at the scene, as well as intervening whenever the need is felt". And to add that security will be reinforced throughout the city, in particular at the entrance to Rabat, at airports, hotels, markets and public squares.
For his part, reports Hespress, Abderazzak Rmichi, Police Prefect, Head of the Souissi-Takadoum district, under the Rabat Prefecture, stressed that, to make this cultural event a success, a significant security system has been put in place to ensure the safety of all the sites that will host the scheduled evenings, as part of the "Mawazine’ 2019 Festival.
In total, 4 main stages will be animated during this "Mawazine", in particular the "OLM" stage, which will see the participation of international artists. So it is a Western stage. There will also be the "Nahda" Space, which will see the participation of Arab and Oriental artists, as well as the "Bouregreg" Space, where African artists will perform. Finally, the Salé stage is planned, which will host Moroccan singers and artists.
