Mawazine 2019: Morocco’s Music Festival Draws Record 2.75 Million Attendees

At the end of the 2019 edition of "Mawazine", which was held from June 21 to 29, 2019, in Rabat, the "Maroc cultures" Association, the organizer of this global music event, takes stock. More than 2.75 million festival-goers came to share strong moments and unforgettable concerts.
What shared emotions during this 18th edition of "Mawazine", which will have exceeded all expectations! Indeed, the "Maroc cultures" Association, which organizes this music gathering every year, was delighted with the scale and incredible mobilization, this year, around the event.
Indeed, "more than 2,750,000 festival-goers" came to celebrate the values of the Festival and music, and to follow the performances of more than 200 artists present in Rabat and Salé," the "Maroc cultures" Association said in a statement relayed by MAP.
For "Mawazine", which brings together the most renowned stars from around the world, this is indeed a "historic audience" which comes to confirm the exceptional popularity and international appeal of the Festival. It benefited from an impressive media coverage. In addition, another reason for satisfaction for the "Maroc cultures" Association is this audience which comes to attest to the title of the Festival, "No. 1" in the world, recently awarded by the reference site, Statista, known to be one of the main data providers in the world.
From June 21 to 29, festival-goers were treated, on the various stages chosen for the occasion, namely the OLM Souissi, the National Theater "Mohammed V", Bouregreg, Nahda, to shows and moments of sharing, marked by performances by artists from around the world. We will remember, among others, Kery James, Maluma, Dadju, the group "Black Eyed Peas", Hamid El Kasri, Fnaïre, Elissa and the surprising collective of women "Les Amazones d’Afrique", which brought together eight of the greatest African voices including Mamani Keita and Angélique Kidjo.
