Massive Drug Bust: 26 Tons of Cannabis Seized in France-Morocco Joint Operation

The Moroccan police helped the French police services seize 26 tons of cannabis hidden in a truck on its way to the hexagon, by providing them with very valuable information. Several people were arrested during this operation.
"Thanks to the criminal investigation officers who conducted the investigations in cooperation with the Moroccan police and the Anti-Narcotics Office (OFAST)," "26 tons of cannabis transiting by truck" destined for the French market were seized, the French police announced in a tweet on Friday. This operation took place near a warehouse in an industrial area near Grenade, as part of a "controlled delivery", reports the French press. The value of the goods is estimated at 200 million euros for a retail sale.
In total, five people, including the truck driver, were placed in pre-trial detention. According to a source close to the investigation, they are suspected of being logistics operators of the traffic. Two other arrests were also made after the seizure of the goods.
"We are in a strategy of obstruction, we did not take the risk that this product would disappear into the wild," the French police said.
