Massive Drug Bust: Over 5 Tons of Cannabis Seized in Northern Morocco

A drug trafficking attempt was thwarted on Saturday in Nador. The police elements of the city seized 5 tons and 450 kg of cannabis resin on board a utility vehicle registered in Morocco.
The security operation set up in the "Dar Aarid" district in Nador made it possible to intercept the utility vehicle towed by a 4x4 vehicle, according to a statement from the General Directorate of National Security (DGSN).
During an attempt to apprehend them, the passengers managed to flee, allowing the recovery of this significant merchandise divided into 169 packages.
An investigation has therefore been opened in order to determine all the possible ramifications of this criminal activity and to arrest all the people involved, concludes the DGSN.
