Martin Scorsese to Mentor Young Filmmakers at Marrakech Film Festival’s 20th Edition

The 20th edition of the Marrakech International Film Festival (FIFM) will see the participation of American director Martin Scorsese. The founder of the World Cinema Foundation will be the sponsor of the 6th edition of the Atlas Workshops, a festival program dedicated to regional talents.
Martin Scorsese, a regular at the festival having already participated in five editions, is delighted to take part in this year’s special edition. "I am always very happy to return to the Marrakech Festival, which is so dear to me. When I’m not there in person, I’m there in spirit. For this very special anniversary edition of the Festival, I have been entrusted with a precious mission: to exchange with young filmmakers and help guide them on their path. I look forward to reuniting with old friends and making new ones," he said.
The American director thus becomes the first guest personality invited to sponsor an edition of the Atlas Workshops and to give his name to the laureates’ promotion. This new tradition will be repeated at the next editions of the Marrakech International Film Festival. The Atlas Workshops, which will be in their sixth edition, will be held from November 27 to 30, on the sidelines of the 20th edition of the FIFM which will take place from November 24 to December 2, 2023.
