Marseille’s Guendouzi Deal with Arsenal Hits Last-Minute Snag over Resale Clause

The announcement of the recruitment of the Franco-Moroccan player Matteo Guendouzi is experiencing a last-minute twist, even though it should have taken place since July 5. The axis connecting Arsenal to Olympique Marseille (OM) has some disturbances.
Barring a last-minute turnaround, Matteo Guendouzi will join OM. The 22-year-old Franco-Moroccan midfielder, under contract until June 2022 with Arsenal, will be a player in the McCourt project in the coming days, reports l’Équipe which announces that there would still be details to be settled between the management of OM and that of Arsenal. These are the percentages on the resale of the player.
The midfielder is leaving Arsenal on the form of a loan with an automatic purchase option, set at 11 million euros. After the final adjustments, Guendouzi will be OM’s fifth summer recruit after Gerson, Konrad de la Fuente, Leonardo Balerdi and Cengiz Ünder.
