France’s World Cup Squad: Guendouzi Selected as Midfield Reinforcement

The coach of the French national football team, Didier Deschamps, unveiled his final list of players called up for the World Cup in Qatar. Among them, the Franco-Moroccan Matteo Guendouzi.
Less than two weeks before the start of the competition, the French internationals are already informed of their fate. In midfield, the French coach called on the player of Moroccan origin, Matteo Guendouzi, to make up for the absences of Paul Pogba and Ngolo Kanté.
The defensive midfielder of OM has been able to establish himself since his arrival at the club through his ardor and his energy. His qualities have allowed him to be appointed vice-captain and above all to score 3 goals and provide 2 assists this year. With the French team, the 23-year-old player has 6 caps and one goal to his name.
In Qatar, Matteo Guendouzi can hope to gain a little playing time depending on the progress of the Blues and the complexion of the matches. His association with the Monegasque Youssouf Fofana could allow Deschamps to experiment with a new type of play, capable of thwarting the opponents’ plans.
