Marseille’s Amine Harit Out for Season After Knee Surgery, Misses World Cup

Substituted due to injury during the match between Olympique de Marseille and AS Monaco, Amine Harit was operated on Thursday in Lyon for a serious sprain of the left knee. According to medical sources, he will be absent until the end of the season.
The Moroccan international spoke for the first time a few days after his serious knee injury suffered against Monaco (2-3) which deprived him of the World Cup he was to participate in with the Moroccan national team.
On his Twitter account, the OM midfielder wrote: "I waited a bit before speaking, because I needed time for myself, with my loved ones. As you can imagine, beyond the physical pain, it’s hard to realize that the dream of a World Cup is slipping away just hours before living it. But as I said in the press conference shortly before the match, for us who are believers it is Destiny, and I accept it. I wish the Lions the most beautiful journey in the competition, and I know that my brothers will honor us."
Amine Harit also defended Axel Disasi, the Monegasque involved in the duel following which he was injured. "I want to say it here as I have already told him privately: I don’t hold it against Axel for a single moment. It’s a routine play where we both play the ball, there’s nothing intentional. What he has suffered on social networks is unacceptable and I am sorry," he wrote.
