Marrakech Tourism Rebounds: Iconic Hotels and Museums Set to Reopen in October

After months of closure due to the state of health emergency, several hotels in Marrakech are preparing to reopen their doors next month. This is the case, for example, of the legendary "La Mamounia" and the famous "Royal Mansour" on October 15, as well as the "Opéra" and "Four Seasons" hotels, which are resuming their activities on October 31.

The museums are also in motion. Several have already reopened in the ochre city, such as the Mohammed VI Museum for the Civilization of Water, Dar Si Said and Dar EL Bacha. The "Jardin Majorelle", appreciated by Moroccan and foreign tourists, plans to reopen from next October, with reduced-rate tickets not exceeding 20 dhs.

Four airlines have resumed flights to Marrakech Menara Airport: Royal Air Maroc (RAM), Air France, the low-cost airline Air Arabia and Transavia.

A few weeks ago, in view of the resurgence of the coronavirus, all access to the city was prohibited, thus creating a climate of sadness on site. The effect is particularly felt on Jamma El Fna Square, listed as an intangible cultural heritage by UNESCO, usually teeming with people, but today empty of its "hlaikia", fortune-tellers, henna tattooists and snake and monkey tamers, who have withdrawn, awaiting the return of tourists.

Marrakech is considered one of the most important and best tourist destinations in the world.
