Marrakech Tourism Hit by Scam Warnings as Influencers Sound Alarm

In Marrakech, the summer season is an opportunity for some unscrupulous people to scam the many tourists who visit the city. Influencers are warning vacationers against this phenomenon, discrediting the ochre city, a choice destination for summer visitors.
Content creators are relentlessly attacking Marrakech, highlighting the cases of scams suffered by tourists during their stay in the ochre city, and ignoring the legendary hospitality and generosity of the Marrakchis.
In a video posted on his page, an American YouTuber named Chris Rodriguez, who recently visited the ochre city, described the craft vendors as "scammers". "To be clear with you, I’m not a fan of Jemaa el-Fna square, because of my difficult experiences with the scammer vendors, the tourists here are like a mobile dollar bill".
In another video, the YouTuber shows a henna tattoo artist who was insistently offering her services to a foreign little girl, a scene he quickly described as a kidnapping. "Here, they kidnap your children, then ask you for money, it’s not a good place," he suggested.
