Deadly Food Poisoning Outbreak in Marrakech Linked to Spoiled Meat at Snack Bar

Alerted by the incident, the police officers and an ONSSA commission went to the scene to conduct a thorough investigation into the circumstances of the tragedy, reports the website Rue20. The investigations revealed the presence of a significant amount of spoiled meat intended for the preparation of fast food. This meat, unfit for consumption, would be the cause of the death of a young man and a young woman.

The 24 victims of poisoning were rushed to the Mohammed VI University Hospital to receive the necessary medical care.

The owner of the snack bar, presumed responsible for this tragedy, was arrested and taken to the police headquarters for questioning under the supervision of the competent prosecutor’s office. He will have to answer to the charges of endangering the lives of others and involuntary manslaughter.
