Marrakech Burglary Ring Busted: Local Official Among Suspects in Stolen Goods Case

The royal gendarmerie brigade in Sidi Zouine, in the suburbs of Marrakech, arrested on Sunday two individuals involved in the burglary of a riad belonging to a foreign national.
In their twenties, the offenders had taken advantage of the owner’s absence to break into the riad and seize all the valuable objects and furniture. They would have sold them to about fifteen people, including the municipal councilor of Sidi Zouine.
All the people involved in the receiving of stolen goods were questioned by the investigators and confessed thanks to the confessions of the two main suspects, reports the site kech24. It adds that a third suspect is currently on the run.
The two suspects were placed in custody and the 15 receivers prosecuted on provisional release, pending their appearance before the Public Prosecutor.
