Marrakech Airport Taxi Fares Increase: New Zone-Based Pricing Implemented

The province of Marrakech has just taken an administrative measure, increasing the rates of taxis for trips to and from the Marrakech-Menara International Airport. This decision affects the two categories of taxis and is accompanied by a novelty: customers will now have to pay the single window fees.

In response to the demands of local taxi unions, an administrative decision has been issued, reports Al3omk. It divides the destinations from Menara airport into 7 zones, according to the distance to be covered. This tariff reorganization has also standardized the costs between small and large taxis, a distinction that previously existed. From now on, the minimum amount that customers will have to pay is 100 dirhams for a distance of less than 3 kilometers, and this can go up to 160 dirhams for a distance of 13 to 15 kilometers, excluding single window fees.

The decree also specifies the rates for each zone: 110 dirhams for zone 2 (3 to 5 kilometers), 120 for zone 3 (5 to 7 kilometers), and so on up to zone 6. For trips to the airport, the rates established in a previous decision in April remain in effect, with prices depending on the day or night, and the distance traveled.

Finally, the taxis of the second category, the small taxis, also have defined rates according to the April decision. During the day, the rate is 80 dirhams for zone 1, and 120 dirhams for zone 2 beyond Oued Issil. At night, these prices increase respectively to 120 and 180 dirhams.
