Manhunt for Three Suspects in Violent Attack on Off-Duty Officer in Barcelona

The Mossos d’Esquadra are looking for three men of Moroccan origin who violently assaulted a police officer on vacation on Sunday in Castelldefels (Barcelona) as he tried to intervene in a dispute between a taxi driver and a young woman.
The assault took place around 7:30 a.m., after three young people got into a taxi. Two got off in Gavà and the third, a woman, in Castelldefels, police sources told ABC.
The latter began to argue with the taxi driver, spitting on him and kicking him. The off-duty police officer reproached her for her attitude. It was then that the young woman made a phone call and a few moments later, three individuals arrived on the scene in a black Audi with license plate 4260MLK.
The three men, of Moroccan origin, got out of the vehicle and beat up the agent who was taken to a health center where he received 27 stitches for facial injuries. The Catalan police found the vehicle of the assailants in Gavà, which turns out to be a rented vehicle. The agents are trying to locate the three Moroccans who would also have stolen the police officer’s identity card.
