Manchester United Board Rejects Ten Hag’s Push to Sign Chelsea’s Ziyech

Manchester United coach Erik ten Hag failed to convince the Manchester management to recruit Moroccan international Hakim Ziyech before the close of the summer transfer window.
Hakim Ziyech could not join the Manchester squad. The club’s coach failed in his attempt to have him signed this summer. While he has brought in Lisandro Martinez and Antony from Ajax, Erik ten Hag has failed to get another former Ajax player, Hakim Ziyech, to sign, reports The Sun. He faced the categorical refusal of the members of the English club’s board. As a result, the non-signing at Manchester forces the Moroccan international to remain at Chelsea, which is considering reducing his salary.
Hakim Ziyech had played under Erik ten Hag when he was coach of Ajax. He had experienced glory within the Dutch club for three years before joining Chelsea’s squad in the summer of 2020 as part of a €35 million contract. He failed to establish himself at Stamford Bridge. The Moroccan winger played only 14 out of 38 Premier League matches last season. He has scored 14 goals in 83 matches and won the Champions League, the Club World Cup and the Super Cup.
