Manchester United’s Amrabat Eyes Permanent Stay After FA Cup Triumph

After winning the FA Cup with Manchester United, who beat Manchester City 2-1, and impressing in recent weeks, Moroccan international Sofyan Amrabat wants to stay at Old Trafford.
After Manchester United’s 13th FA Cup triumph last Saturday, Sofyan Amrabat discussed his future. "Do I already know what I’m going to do next year? No, we’ll talk. Staying is certainly an option," he told Ziggo Sport. Loaned by ACF Fiorentina until June 2024 for a fee of 10 million euros, the Moroccan international has made 30 appearances this season, with only nine starts in the Premier League. After a dry spell, he has impressed in recent weeks. Now, he is enjoying himself at Old Trafford. "Listen, I think it’s been a very difficult season. For Manchester United, it has to be much better, and also for me personally. We’ll talk," explained the 27-year-old player. And he added: "Manchester United is the biggest club in the world, so who wouldn’t want to play football here? But all parties must be satisfied with each other, which is why we will now sit down and see what happens." If the discussions are fruitful, the English club will ultimately exercise its purchase option set at 21.4 million euros by Fiorentina in June.
If the discussions between Manchester United and the Atlas Lion do not lead to an agreement, Sofyan could accept the offer of one of the clubs that want to recruit him. Crystal Palace and Fulham have both sent scouts to monitor the World Cup semi-finalist over the past four weeks. Amrabat can help Palace take it to the next level - and become a challenge for European football. The Eagles risk losing four players this summer. For its part, Fulham is looking for a replacement for Portuguese midfielder Joao Palhinha. And the Moroccan international could be a nice option.
