Major Spanish Hashish Trafficking Kingpin "El Lana" Arrested in Seville
The Civil Guard arrested on Tuesday in Seville JMV, 32 years old, nicknamed "El Lana", considered the head of the hashish trafficking organization "the most important and violent" operating in the Guadalquivir region. Wanted by the justice system since 2018, he was placed in detention.
El Lana was arrested in the Sevillian region of Aljarafe where his family resided with whom he planned to spend New Year’s Eve. The drug trafficker had been wanted by the justice system since 2018 and would be linked to several drug trafficking operations thwarted by the Civil Guard in 2018 and 2019. Belonging to the Lanas clan active in Seville, he is also linked to the "Messi of hashish", the main drug trafficker in Algeciras, reports Diario de Sevilla.
The criminal network managed to introduce large quantities of hashish into Spain from the Moroccan coasts, on boats between 15 and 17 meters long and with engines of around 250 horsepower. Once in Spain, they stored the hashish bales, either at home, on boats or in vehicles before later distributing them.
According to the Civil Guard investigators, El Lana is a "violent" and "very meticulous" person, who has taken many security measures in his personal life and to commit criminal acts. He used encrypted communication systems and constantly changed residence in different cities in Spain to avoid being caught.
