Major Schengen Visa Forgery Ring on Trial in Morocco

The trial of several forgers specialized in the manufacture of visas for the Schengen area, recently arrested in the north of the Kingdom, has begun in Tetouan.

Arrested thanks to a collaboration between the Judicial Police of Tetouan and the General Directorate of Territorial Surveillance (DGST), these individuals are now facing serious charges, including forgery of official documents, illegal immigration, and human trafficking.

The case, reported by Al Akhbar, has taken on a large scale following an investigation by the Judicial Police, supervised by the competent prosecutor’s office. The investigation made it possible to uncover the modus operandi of a criminal network, particularly with regard to forged documents and illegal immigration.

At the same time, the local authorities are intensifying their efforts to secure the region. The security services of the northern prefectures are mobilizing to track down the criminal gangs active on social networks, recruiting candidates for illegal emigration.

The New Year’s festivities are a propitious time for migrants to force the passage of Sebta. According to sources close to the case, a reinforced surveillance system is being set up around the city. The services of the Royal Gendarmerie, the Police, the Auxiliary Forces and the DGST are working closely together to anticipate and thwart any attempt at intrusion or assault.
