Major Fire Contained at Automotive Parts Factory in Tangier Free Zone

A fire broke out on Saturday, May 30, in an industrial unit specializing in the manufacture of automotive electrical components located in the free zone of Tanger (TFZ). The civil protection elements managed to bring the flames under control.
Ten fire vans, eight of which belong to civil protection and two to the fire and rescue service of Tanger Ibn Battouta airport, rushed to the scene of the fire, according to a source on site. The fire broke out in a part of the factory around 5:10 p.m. (local time).
The civil protection elements managed to bring the flames under control. Thanks to their quick intervention, the flames did not spread to the neighboring industrial units.
The fire report shows material damage to the factory, which covers an area of 3,000 m2, and one injured among the intervention teams. No loss of human life was recorded.
