Major Drug Bust: 400 Kilos of Moroccan Cannabis Seized in French Operation

An operation carried out by the narcotics squad of the territorial crime division (DCT), in charge of the investigations alongside the investigators of the East division of the Cenon police station and the interdepartmental judicial police service (SIPJ), with the support of the national investigation unit of the judicial police, resulted in the seizure of 400 kilos of Moroccan cannabis resin intercepted in Gironde and the arrest of eleven people.
It all started with the seizure of 9 kilos of cannabis resin in a cellar in the Saint-Hilaire district last March. The narcotics squad of the territorial crime division (DCT), in charge of the investigations alongside the investigators of the East division of the Cenon police station, carried out a titanic work to dismantle the network. "Over the months, they discovered that the organizers were making frequent trips to southern Spain and transporting between 300 and 400 kilos of resin each time. The drug coming from Morocco was most often stored in the trunk," reports Le Parisien. Then, "the driver, sometimes accompanied, would leave Marbella, Spain, late in the evening and drive calmly all night to arrive in Gironde the next morning," specifies the same source.
The investigators discover that it was actually "go slow" "who used secondary roads as far as the Landes, where a recently stolen Volkswagen Touran with false license plates loaded with cannabis would then turn onto the A63 motorway, up to Bordeaux." An important device was mobilized on the night of Tuesday, October 15 to Wednesday, October 16 to "follow" and stop the vehicle. The Bayonne brigade for research and intervention (BRI) is assigned the mission of discreetly following the vehicle from the Franco-Spanish border. Then the Bordeaux BRI comes into play. It intervenes with the Raid on the delivery point in Lormont at 9 a.m. Squads from the anti-crime brigade and the departmental intervention company accompany the operation led by the DCT and the interdepartmental judicial police service (SIPJ), with the support of the national investigation unit of the judicial police.
The mobilization paid off. The driver of the German station wagon was arrested by the police in the underground parking lot of a residence in the Saint-Hilaire district in Lormont. The police seized 400 kilos of cannabis resin packaged in Moroccan suitcases. A man at the wheel of a second car was also arrested. This man "was waiting to take charge of the drug and deliver it to different sensitive neighborhoods of the agglomeration in Lormont, Cenon, Bordeaux in priority security zones." In the wake, nine other people suspected of being involved in this network were arrested in the Palmer estates in Cenon, and Dravemont in Floirac. Also, 192,500 euros in cash, as well
