Massive Cannabis Seizure: 500kg Found in Moroccan Truck Near Lyon

A truck registered in Morocco was intercepted in Meyzieu, near Lyon, in the night from Friday to Saturday, with an impressive quantity of cannabis resin on board.
The operation, carried out by the Anti-Drug Office (Ofast) and the Division of Organized and Specialized Crime, resulted in the seizure of 500 kg of drugs and the arrest of three individuals, reports the newspaper Le Progrès.
The truck, which was transporting the illicit goods, was spotted by the law enforcement authorities while making a delivery. The driver, as well as the two men who came to collect the drugs, were arrested and taken into custody. The value of this seizure is estimated at more than 4 million euros on the black market.
This operation is a major blow to drug trafficking networks. It follows another significant seizure carried out by the French customs at the end of October, where a ton of ecstasy had been discovered.
