Major Cocaine Trafficking Suspect Arrested in Spain: Moroccan-Spanish National Linked to International Drug Ring

Saïd R., a Spanish national of Moroccan origin, was arrested last summer by the Spanish police, in collaboration with the American and Mexican authorities, for international cocaine trafficking.
Said, alias Sami, is very close to Juan Manuel Muñoz Luévano Muñoz, better known as Mono Muñoz, who was arrested in Madrid in 2016 for cocaine trafficking. Wanted for drug trafficking by a Texas judge, Muñoz was extradited to the United States in 2019. This is how Said continued to develop the cocaine trade in Spain until last summer when he was arrested in La Moraleja, after an investigation conducted by the national police, with the collaboration of the Colombian and American authorities. Four other people were arrested and 400 kilos of cocaine seized during this operation, reports La Opinion de Malaga.
Of Moroccan origin, Saïd, 54, was very discreet. According to the sources of the investigation, he had several residences and always traveled by car, no matter the distance to be covered. He often held his meetings in bars and inns located along the road. According to the investigators, he used up to 7 cars registered in different regions of Europe, exchanging them several times in the same day to avoid being caught. Most of his phone calls were made from cars, while traveling or during strategic stops. During his arrest, the investigators found eight SIM cards hidden in the pocket of his mobile phone.
The drug trafficker was very mobile. He traveled a lot outside of Spain. According to the investigators, he went to Morocco, his country of origin, the Netherlands, Dubai and Qatar in December last year to support the Moroccan team against the Spanish team in the round of 16 of the World Cup. But he regularly visited Colombia, especially the cities of Cali and Bogota.
