Macron Vows Crackdown on Online Extremism After Teacher Attack

The security of school establishments will be strengthened and "radical Islamist propaganda online" will be monitored. This is what French President Emmanuel Macron decided on Sunday, the day after the attack on a history teacher.
President Macron wants to take action. He intends "to give no respite to those who organize to oppose the republican order". This decision was made during a meeting in the presence of several ministers and the anti-terrorism prosecutor Jean-François Ricard.
To succeed in this challenge, the French head of state has demanded the strengthening of the security of school establishments and their environment for the start of the school year on November 2. According to him, the strategies must be developed within two weeks.
According to the Elysée, an action plan presented by ministers Gérald Darmanin and Eric Dupond-Moretti will be implemented in the course of the week. In addition, concrete actions must be taken against the structures, associations or individuals close to radicalized circles, authors of propaganda and calls for hatred to encourage attacks.
The investigations continue in order to arrest the accomplices of this terrorist attack. In this regard, nearly a hundred messages of support for the aggressor were intercepted on the Pharos reporting platform. The persons concerned were summoned on Monday. Homes were also searched.
