Macron Praises Morocco’s Historic World Cup Run After France’s Semi-Final Victory

Following Morocco’s defeat on Wednesday evening against France, in the World Cup semi-final match, Emmanuel Macron expressed his admiration for the Moroccan players.
It was after following the match at the Al-Bayt stadium that the President of the French Republic first congratulated the Blues on their qualification for the final, before addressing the Atlas Lions and Moroccan supporters.
"The Atlas Lions, with Walid Regragui, have managed to mark the history of national football, being the only Arab and African team to have reached a World Cup semi-final," Macron wrote on Twitter. "To our Moroccan friends: congratulations on this great run. You are making football history," he added.
His tweet is accompanied by a photo of the match, showing Achraf Hakimi and Kylian Mbappé embracing. Morocco lost to France on Wednesday evening with a score of 2-0.
