Morocco’s World Cup Dream Ends as Ziyech Expresses Pride Despite Semifinal Loss to France

On Wednesday evening, France ended Morocco’s dream of qualifying for the World Cup final for the first time in its history. Walid Regragui’s men were beaten by the Blues 2-0. A difficult defeat to swallow for the players, especially Hakim Ziyech.
Hakim Ziyech said he was "devastated" by the defeat but proud of every member of the team, the work done and the feat accomplished. "We fought until the end and we couldn’t have done it without you," he wrote on Instagram, addressing Moroccan supporters.
For the Chelsea player, this adventure would not have been possible without the daily support and accompaniment of the supporters. "I want to express my deepest gratitude and greatest respect to each of you. All those who made the trip to Qatar to support us, all those who supported us at home," writes Ziyech.
He emphasizes that the victories and all the emotions of this competition belong to the team, but also to all the supporters. "Together we wrote history," he said before calling on them to support them as they know how to do on Saturday for the classification match between Morocco and Croatia.
