Their luxury villa in Marrakech seized after a fraud of over 1 billion euros!

The Marseille Criminal Court sentenced Jean and Viviane Badache to seven years in prison for a real estate fraud that affected 750 families. The judgment includes heavy fines and the confiscation of their assets, including a villa located in Marrakech.

The fraud, estimated at 1.2 billion euros, orchestrated through the Apollonia company, mainly targeted healthcare professionals to whom the couple promised the constitution of a real estate portfolio without any contribution. Clients signed stacks of blank documents, thus delegating all financial management. This mechanism has generated bank debts ranging from 800,000 to 4 million euros for the victims.

The court also sentenced the spouses to a fine of 2.5 million euros each. The justice system ordered the seizure of their bank accounts and several properties for a total value of 20 million euros. In addition to their luxury residence in Cassis, the villa they owned in Marrakech is among the assets seized for the compensation of the civil parties.

The organization of this fraud was based on a network including the couple’s son, salespeople, notaries, and a lawyer. These professionals provided a guarantee of respectability to the operations, encouraging clients to sign the loan contracts. In total, fourteen defendants were sentenced to suspended sentences to several years in prison for organized fraud and money laundering.

Despite the appeal filed by their lawyers, Jean and Viviane Badache will be incarcerated shortly. The court accompanied their convictions with deferred detention orders with provisional execution. For the 750 families who were victims of this financial scheme, this verdict marks the end of a legal procedure that began several years ago.
