Libyan Political Breakthrough: Tangier Meeting Paves Way for Crucial Parliamentary Session

The Minister of Foreign Affairs, African Cooperation and Moroccans Residing Abroad, Nasser Bourita, affirms that the results of the consultative meeting of the Libyan House of Representatives will constitute an "important turning point that will have a major impact on the political process".
"The results of the meeting, in particular the upcoming holding of a session of the House of Representatives on Libyan territory, constitute an important turning point that will have a major impact on the political process," he said in his address delivered on the occasion of the closing session of the consultative meeting of the Libyan House of Representatives, held from November 23 to 28 in Tangier. For him, the participation, for the first time in several years, of more than 123 Libyan deputies in this meeting is in itself a "success".
Mr. Bourita reassured the Libyan deputies and the international community of Morocco’s constant willingness to accompany them to ensure the meeting of the House of Representatives so that it can fulfill its role and responsibilities. "The current political stage requires a harmonious House of Representatives, which moves in a single direction, where geographical and political divisions come to an end, and which works as a single body in the service of Libya and the Libyans," he said.
Speaking on this occasion, the member of the Libyan House of Representatives, Ahmed Chalhoub, saluted the role of Morocco in the unification of the Libyan House of Representatives. For him, this role, which will be engraved in the memory of the Libyans, testifies to the interest that the Kingdom has in the Libyan people.
