Lamine Yamal, the World’s Most Expensive Young Player

The Football Observatory (CIES) has published its ranking of the most expensive players under 21 in the world. Unsurprisingly, it is the gem of FC Barcelona, Lamine Yamal, who takes the top spot on the podium.
With an estimated value of 180.9 million euros, the young Spanish prodigy of Moroccan origin largely outpaces his competitors. Alejandro Garnacho (Manchester United) and Warren Zaïre-Emery (Paris Saint-Germain) complete the podium, valued at 114.8 and 109 million euros respectively.
In the top 10, we also find Savinho (Manchester City) and João Neves (Paris Saint-Germain), who are close on the heels of Warren Zaïre-Emery with estimated values of 101 and 99.8 million euros.
On the French side, Mathys Tel (Bayern Munich) and Leny Yoro (Manchester United) are respectively in 15th and 18th place in the ranking. Their values are estimated at 58.1 and 54.5 million euros.
The best African player in the ranking is Carlos Baleba (Brighton), who occupies the 20th place with a value of 52.1 million euros.
