Published on October 6, the ranking is based on votes from readers of Condé Nast Traveler. At the top, the gap is tiny: 99.65 for La Mamounia, compared with 99.58 for Mandarin Oriental Marrakech. Just seven hundredths of a point separate the two properties.

The podium is rounded out in Casablanca. Four Seasons scores 97.42 points, ahead of Royal Mansour Marrakech, which takes fourth place with 96.95. Selman Marrakech follows in fifth place with 96.80, just ahead of Royal Mansour Casablanca, with 96.77 points.
The top spot adds to the distinctions La Mamounia has already received this year. The palace has notably been included in Condé Nast Traveler’s “Triple Crown” selection, reserved for hotels featured in three of its major rankings: best new openings, editors’ favorites and readers’ choice.
Six Marrakech hotels make the top 10
Marrakech accounts for six of the ten places in this edition. Joining the top two, Royal Mansour and Selman are Es Saadi, in seventh place with 96.11 points, and The Oberoi, which rounds out the list with 95.60.
Two properties outside the major urban centers also feature among the winners. Kasbah Tamadot, in Asni, ranks eighth with 96.03 points. La Sultana Oualidia comes ninth with 95.86.
Casablanca retains two places, including Four Seasons’ spot on the podium. Along with Asni and Oualidia, it accounts for the four properties completing the selection alongside the six Marrakech hotels.

Readers thus placed La Mamounia ahead of two properties that received Morocco’s highest honors in the Forbes Travel Guide 2026: Mandarin Oriental and Royal Mansour Marrakech, both awarded five stars. In that guide, La Mamounia was listed in the four-star category.
The two rankings use different methods. Forbes evaluates properties through anonymous inspections, while the Readers’ Choice Awards gather readers’ ratings. For its 2026 global edition across all categories, Condé Nast Traveler reports 798 867 votes.
