Bertrand-Kamal, the candidate from the "Koh-Lanta" show who died on September 9, was honored by Samir, his father, last Friday, during the episode currently airing on TF1. Bertrand-Kamal was eliminated at the end of this episode.
Bertrand-Kamal’s adventure within the "Koh-Lanta: The 4 Lands" show only lasted 25 days. He lost his place during the skill game, a challenge in which the candidates had to pull three wooden pieces towards them using a rope with a hook at the end. Unfortunately, the Dijon candidate was unable to complete this challenge, to the great sadness of some of his teammates.
At the end of Friday’s show, Denis Brogniart, the host of the show, received Bertrand-Kamal’s father. The two men debriefed on the young man’s participation in the show. His father spoke about the tears shed by some adventurers upon hearing of their teammate’s failure. "Knowing my son, the love he gave to people. It’s true that it’s very touching to see these adventurers pay him this tribute, it warms the heart. He’s my son, he’s my BK and I’m not too surprised," says Samir, very moved. He explained that "Koh-Lanta" was the dream of Bertrand-Kamal’s life, "he realized it, unfortunately we know the rest. He wanted this show to continue for him and thank you for continuing it because thanks to these episodes, I feel like my son is still with me."
The father also mentioned the courage with which his son fought the pancreatic cancer that took his life. "He surprised me with his courage, he believed in it, we all believed in it together. He was fighting a dragon and we lost a battle. I will miss this BK, tremendously."
