’Koh-Lanta’ Contestant Bertrand-Kamal Dies at 31 After Cancer Battle

Franco-Moroccan Bertrand-Kamal Loudrhiri, a participant in the latest season of Koh-Lanta, currently airing on TF1, died on Wednesday, September 9 from cancer at the age of 31. The channel presented its condolences to his family, evoking the memory of a courageous man who faced the disease with dignity.
On the TF1 page, many are paying tribute to a warrior who fell with his weapons in hand. It was only last July that Bertrand Kamal had revealed on his Facebook account that he was suffering from a serious illness, to the great curiosity of Internet users. On August 28, in an interview with the site Bien Public, he announced that he was suffering from cancer discovered after the filming in Fiji of the latest season of Koh-Lanta.
In a language imbued with sincerity and determination, he announced that if the trials at the level of the program broadcast on TF1 were over, he had others more personal to face. "I prefer to say it. I have no shame with that. It’s a fight against cancer this time that awaits me. The trials are not over yet on my side," he had declared.
Bertrand-Kamal Loudrhiri was a candidate on the green team in the East region on Koh-Lanta. Holder of a cinema-audiovisual baccalaureate, he had worked as an animator in Dijon. Before letting himself be carried away by the Koh-Lanta adventure, he had joined a one-man show school in Paris, hoping to become a professional host. Alas, cancer had the last word.
Bertrand-Kamal was of Moroccan origin through his father, with whom he often appeared on social networks during his training.
