Franco-Moroccan Filmmaker Dalila Ennadre Dies at 53 After Cancer Battle

The Franco-Moroccan director, Dalila Ennadre, died on Thursday in Paris, at the age of 53, after several years of fighting cancer.
In a statement released on social networks, her family explained that the deceased was "fighting against cancer revealed in January 2018". According to her doctors, it would be caused by a probable exposure to asbestos in her youth.
The deceased, born in 1966 in Casablanca, established herself in her field, thanks to her work and her dedication. Self-taught, the director, cinematographer and producer, made several documentary films on subjects related to Moroccan society. She made her first documentary "By the Grace of Allah" in 1987, before embarking on several other successes.
Awarded several times, Dalila Ennadre "made numerous documentary films in Morocco, her country of origin, and in France, her adopted country". A few months before her death, "she put the finishing touches to her latest film shot in Larache, with the family of the caretakers of the cemetery where Jean Genêt is buried".
