King Mohammed VI Condemns ’Horrific’ Attack on Trump at Pennsylvania Rally

King Mohammed VI expressed on Sunday his "sympathy and solidarity" with Donald Trump, victim of a shooting attack on Saturday during a rally in the city of Butler (Pennsylvania).
Mohammed VI expressed his deep sadness at the "horrific assassination attempt" against the former US president and candidate in the next US presidential election. "My thoughts and prayers are with you, Mr. President, your family, and the innocent victims of this deplorable act," he said in a message relayed by the MAP.
The Sovereign said he was relieved to know that Donald Trump was "safe and sound" after suffering this attack that he described as "hateful". While firmly condemning "political violence", the monarch also wished Trump a "speedy recovery" so that he can "continue to serve his great nation".
To recall, it was under the aegis of the United States under Donald Trump that Morocco and Israel normalized their diplomatic relations in December 2020, as part of the Abraham Accords. In exchange, the former US president formalized the American recognition of Morocco’s sovereignty over the Sahara.
