Kilian Paris Unveils ’Sacred Wood’: Luxury Perfume Inspired by Morocco’s Atlas Mountains
Kilian Paris, the perfume brand created by perfumer Kilian Hennessy, has given a special touch to the Sacred Wood perfume, which pays tribute to the Atlas Mountains (Morocco).
According to the olfactory description, Sacred Wood pays tribute to pure Mysore Sandalwood and Atlas Mountain Cedar Wood from protected tree species in Morocco. "These exceptional woods take time to cultivate; mysterious and sanctified, it will open a superior olfactory universe of sensory pleasure," Kilian Paris states on its website. The brand specifies that Sacred Wood traces the portrait of Sandalwood, especially the most coveted variety from Mysore, with its spicy, woody and milky facets simply incredible.
"Sacred Wood opens with absolute Ambrette seeds as well as Carrot seed oil for spicy and earthy elements, before unfolding into a multilayered Sandalwood accord with Atlas Mountain Cedar Wood oil from Morocco and Dominican Amyris oil. Copaiba oil also adds warmth with an Apricot animal aspect. A milky, malty incense-like vapor rises, for an exceptional and lasting trail."
"When it was still available to perfumers early in my career, the Mysore cedar wood made me fall deeply in love with the world of perfume, to the point that I wore the pure oil on my neck. It’s a perfume in itself," says Kilian Hennessy in a press release. Sacred Wood is available for purchase on the brand’s website for $265 US.
